Yeah, so, I'm feeling a little "lightheaded" right now. And me thinks I've got a cold coming along. But that's not all, come to think of it, the strain on my neck has lifted too. What happened you say? The barbershop happened. I think I must have left 3 pounds (metric) of curls down there. You've guest it the dude on the left is me. I was of the opinion that after about a year and a half the hair should come off, the gig was up, and the like. So I did it. It feels kinda weird but familiar at the same time.

Age I wanna go back to.
This one... Okay, okay, I might consider going back to, say, 15. 'cause I can do high school over again, but I want to go back with all the stuff I have learned about life so far. You know. That sometimes being an ass is a good thing and sometimes it isn't. That if I had just done one hour of homework everyday (maybe two on Saturday) I'd have aced (and I really mean, getting strait A's) high school and I would have learned to get off my ass and do stuff. I'd have taken a job on the side so I could have bought all sorts of cool shit. I would have done some more sports (tried out different ones at least). And I would have known that looking good is only gonna get you that far along the chick line and that just being you and having a big mouth from time to time will get u so much farther on said line (tss, if I only knew). That and I wouldn't have passed up on certain people because I was an ignorant little bitch more concerned about what others thought about me than what I felt for others (at least a lot more than now ;) ).

But then again, I'm pretty happy where I am now, sure I've kinda fucked up major periods in my life by just doing shit, but even that taught me something. And hell I'll be learning till I die, so.

In short, I'd only consider going back to a certain age if I could take that little teensy bit of carefully honed wisdom I've mustered so far with me.\

So, I'll try to find 5 victims, but I'll guarantee you, this is gonna take me a while. I only know so much bloggers and most of them have already been tagged.

...again. Yes, again.
I'm not completely satisfied with the current blog. It has too many variables. I just set the archiving to weekly and the max amount of posts to 4, which should hold for now.

But, as I have noticed, if the posts are shorter (vertical pixels in total) than the menu on the right, the center wrapper just... stops. So does the menu wrapper. Which sucks big time. So I'll have to find a way to heal this. Somehow I've got to get at least the coloring to run through to the bottom of the screen or get a decent end to the wrapper (a fade like the top has). Or I have to check if every new post is long enough to keep my archive inside the right wrapper. A task which is going to be harder and harder every time I post, 'cause the archive will take up more space every month. Crap.

So if things start to look weird (funky colors/box outlines/no banner/nice background), don't threat, it's all part of the healing process.

While riding my bike back to my house after watching a movie at a friends house I got pulled over by the man. Actually 4 men, but who's keeping track? Apparently they were right behind me as I was crossing the train tracks. And as I wasn't in the mood to wait till the red lights were out or in the slightest bit aware of the law abiding Saturday night working blues, I got billed for 60 Euros. Ouch. To say the least.

What you say? HAH! I can hear your flabbergasted cry from over here! Which is actually not so weird since you'd have to be outside of my room if you're able to smell the paint.

But to heck with such trivial blog-filling banter! I'm neither here to tell you that you have a pooch-like sense of smell nor that my hearing is as sharp as a bats. I'm hear to tell the world of tabletop gamers that I, Erwin Beens, Chapter Master of the Storm Angels Space Marines, Autarch of the Been'Kar Craftworld Eldar and grand sculptor of the North have started painting and modeling again.

Yeah, after more than half a year of leave from the hobby I've actually picked up my brushes again. Ah the sweet feel of that tiny, brittle piece of wood with the pigs hair on the end. The gentle strokes of black, white, grey, red, orange and every other color on my pallet banding together to create wonderful pieces of imaginary killing machines.

Enough! Enough of this faggotry! I just came here to tell you that there will be more 40k related updates in the future. I've got my dad's old cam here and enough inspiration to at least last me the holidays. Now let's just hope it doesn't interfere with my studies.

Well, not much for me to say but see you when I finish something or at least until I can show you something of noteworthy progress :D

First thing I did when I came home, what seemed hours ago, was turn off my cellphone. At first I couldn't tell why I did it, I just did. Then semi-collapsing on my bed everything around me just blurred and all my walls turned to mush. My beautiful palace of sanity was nothing more than a hillbilly hut with holes in the roof. I realized why I turned my cell off. I didn't want them to disturb me. I couldn't deal with anyone nagging me about anything. At that moment something inside told me I hated them all. I wondered why. I'm not the hateful one. I always thought of myself as understanding. People aren't inherently evil or bad. They just do what they think is right or what they have always been told is right. Hating people for being different was for the blind. I always wanted to try and understand people and for most of my life it worked. But just now I couldn't get myself to understand them, the blind, the deaf the cockeyed. People I had previously labeled friendly, in need of help or tolerated in my head were suddenly labeled annoying, hostile and unwelcome. I couldn't figure out why. It was as if my mind got shook up and all the files had been tussled about.

Now, thinking about it I find that it was a gradual process that got me to this point. It is true, on the outside I'm still cheerful, gay even. You wouldn't notice a thing. Not a trace of what has happened this year. But I can assure you on the inside marks have been drawn. They trace up and down my spine and across my hart. Unaware to most people my year wasn't one of mostly pleasantries but of hardships. And I agree that most of them would seem trivial to you, but to me they have been experiences for life. Some of them more universal than others, some concern changes in my life and that of others, some are merely concerned with getting to know myself better, or worse, it all depends.

I started filing it all in my head, quite randomly, the order is completely irrelevant. Becoming board chairman of my faculty society. Being lied to about the prospects, sending me towards a virtual brick wall including all the hassles and commentary that went with it. Not being able to tackle the brunt of my classes. Missing my sis badly because we hardly see each other these days. Same for my parents. My granddad passing away. Having a hole in my pocket the size of Australia getting me into some financially tight corners. Having fought for the good of others without getting anything in return and many more things that have left me shaken. And there hasn't been any one particular person I could talk to about this. I don't know why, probably because I couldn't. I've always known myself to be more of a writer, yeah, surprise, surprise.

Still, time to tackle this shit. Starting with my granddad, I guess. It's the most tangible at this moment. I thought I was coping pretty well, but right now I realize it just wasn't really getting through to me. Ever since he passed away I noticed something missing. I'm not saying we spoke often or saw each other a lot. To be honest I felt like the failing grandson. Maybe that's the problem. I was supposed to go on a trip right before he passed. And all I seem to be able to do right now is realize what he meant to me all those years. Just now, today, I realized he wasn't just that old man sitting and discussing at family get-togethers. He was an icon of reassurance. He was someone who symbolized experience and knowledge. It was just enough for me that he was there. And only now, since he's gone I regret I never knew what he was in my life.
Thanks Granddad, for everything.

I think I'll visit his grave on Friday. Maybe it'll do me some good.

So that's the first of some venting that needed to be done. I think I've lost about half a liter of moist through my eyes typing this. And yet still there's that nagging voice in my head that says I'm a hypocrite. Telling me to apologize for there are people in the world, a great many, that are far worse of than me.

Which is true of course. And I know that in about ten minutes I'll probably be laughing my ass off watching Zero Punctuation. But I guess that's the way people work in this world. I just want to thank whoever is reading this for the chance to get this off my chest. I hope, for your sake and mine, that the next post will be of lighter composition. I'm gonna turn my phone on in a sec cause the silence is killing me. Even now the I'm realizing that the chatter of the radio doesn't do it for me.

Teh lazyness pays off sometimes. 'What?' I hear you cry out in harmonious voices. Ok, ok, not really, but after a pretty decent day (yes, I actually got some work done) I found myself to shitted to walk 5 minutes to the shop and get me some decent dinner. So I started rummaging through the kitchen closet and found about 3 out of 4 ingredients for about 5 different dishes. At first I thought: "Dammit, now I still have to go to the store." But then it hit me! Why not mix'n mash like I used to do. So half a pack of soup mix, 150grams of pasta, one (1) tomato, 300grams of ground meat, one (1) egg and some parsley later I started on my first bowl of (really) bonded tomato soup. I'm currently slaughtering my second bowl. It tastes great!

Dammit, dammit, dammit!

I'm raising an alarm flag over here. I'm supposed to start a two and a half week study session to prepare for my last two tests this year, but for some reason I'm having trouble with a motivation sink.

I can't get myself to do shit! I even started to get up really early to get myself to work, but I'm immobile as a rock. I mean, 6am, WTF!? I know, I know. You ask me why. Well 'bout two months ago I started noticing what I've been doing wrong in my life after a couple of mornings of incidentally waking up and getting to work early. I'm a morning person! Yes, I know it's hard to believe, but When I wake up early I start doing all sorts of useful stuff (excluding today, by the judge of things).

Now, Erwin, you ask, you are so full of shit. You're the laziest sleep-in I've ever met. I know. But the reason I wasn't active all these past years was simply because I wasn't up. But all of this self exploration doesn't mean jack if I can't get myself motivated. So now I'm looking all over the place for goals en people to motivate me.

Hence I lay it to you my dear bloggers, give me something to look forward too so I can see meaning in the image of my head being buried in my books again.

US pre-elections

Well I was astounded again today when I heard Hillary isn't planning on supporting Obama. Come on you pigheaded cow! How much longer do the facts have to be shoved in your face. YOU LOST ALREADY!

Don't take me wrong, I'm not sure if Obama's the man for the job. I'm not really sure who did what anymore. Until I know more about McCain I'm not rooting for anyone. But if the democrats want to win the presidentials they'd better force Hillary to give up. This is not going to end well.

Philosophical

Just found this link on a forum. Read through it if you're in for some deep thoughts and if you've figured, it out a good laugh. All I have against this person is that he preaches to show people that they have certain presuppositions about the universe of which they are not aware. These presuppositions are supposed to cloud judgment of facts as it were. The problem with this mans story is that he bases his entire story on the "fact" that the bible is true (including his interpretation of it).

One argument struck me as particularly uneducated:

"...A young man approached me at a seminar and stated, ‘Well, I still believe in the big bang, and that we arrived here by chance random processes. I don’t believe in God.’ I answered him, ‘Well, then obviously your brain, and your thought processes, are also the product of randomness. So you don’t know whether it evolved the right way, or even what right would mean in that context. Young man, you don’t know if you’re making correct statements or even whether you’re asking me the right questions.’..."

If mister Ham knew something about random chance in this context he would not have used this argument. For if random chance is applied to big numbers as in evolution they cease to become mere random chances and become statistics. Yeah, that's right, we're all statistics, biatch. And this means that we, as humans (or any other living being for that matter), do not necessarily have a random process created brain. Our brain evolved in such a way that the human race could cope with it's surroundings. For this "random process" will eventually come across the best way to go on in this world

Highlighting this part of his argument:

"...So you don’t know whether it evolved the right way, or even what right would mean in that context. Young man, you don’t know if you’re making correct statements or even whether you’re asking me the right questions.’..."

What "right" means is not something that is inherently present in your brain as a result of evolution or anything else. What "right means" is something you realize by learning about the world and is mostly decided by your surroundings (parents, school, religion, etc.). It is true, the "young man" in this anecdote didn't formulate his complaint as well as he should have, but the argument given by Ham is easily chucked away.

You see, Ken, almost every physical, chemical or biological (potato, potàto) reaction is a "random chance process" as it were. The point is that this all is applied in such great numbers, even on microscopic scales, that it comes down to statistics. And when it comes down to statistics it gets pretty predictable.

There, done. Disclaimer: I'm not one to say God doesn't exist, I don't know. Mainly because of two things.
1) There's still stuff we can't explain, but hell we used to be unable to explain thunder.
2) We can neither prove nor disprove that there is such a thing as an intelligent designer.
All I can say is that I simply DO NOT KNOW.

C&C 3: Kane's Wrath REVIEW

It's a franchise

As with every command & conquer game, bar Renegade, C&C 3 recently enjoyed the release of an add-on, which is titled Kane's Wrath. Those of you whom are not familiar with the franchise I gladly refer to the website. Now that I've disposed of the heathens for a few minutes you true believers can read on.

The story (don't worry no spoilers, enough room for that in the PS)

As with every franchise that spans over a decade, command and conquer has gathered quite the amount of fans. And it seems Kane's Wrath is primarily created for this group of people, myself included. For the campaign fills a lot of plot holes on the Nod side and, in my opinion, makes Kane even more immortal. The way that he, as the super badass bald motherfucker that he is, succeeds in manipulating not only his fellow man, but also superior alien entities almost wants me to erect a nod splinter cell of my own. Someone in the ranks of EA did a really good job at creating a character who, even after three full games, still manages to blow my mind and surprise me.

However I'd be a sucky reviewer if I didn't highlight some of the downs of the add-on. As far as the campaign is concerned I was pretty let down when I found out there was only one side to play. Sure it's called Kane's Wrath (obviously) and it B-E-A-Utifully tells the tale of Kane's ascension from seconds after the second tiberium war and the CABAL crisis until the very end of the third tiberium war where it reveals the true intention of all Kane's hard work, but I was actually looking forward to some more special covert ops missions for GDI or a decent Scrin campaign. Be honest the Scrin got a rather bad deal as far as the campaign was concerned. It was incredibly short and very easy compared to both the Nod and GDI campaigns. They left me with a somewhat metallic and unfluffy aftertaste which has regrettably prevented me from really getting into this race. Which grabs me as being a tad racist.

Gameplay

So we have an add-on. And what comes with a typical C&C add-on apart from a new campaign? Yes, new units and abilities. Apparently, the name of the game is pimp-your-tank and it's breed is subfaction. All three factions get three to four new vanilla units (one of which is epic) and all three get two subfactions with their own unique units creating nine different armies. A surprising amount of units get the garrison infantry ability which lets you add some extra versatile firepower to your otherwise singlerole vehicles. It brings back memories from back in the day when only the allies got a hard-on from

shooting everything but the kitchen sink at your mangled Russian visage from one tank. I for one stacking seals and chrono's in battlefortresses like tuna in cans. Now, I haven't played Scrin that much (thanks to the aforementioned problem) so I'll forgo them mostly, but most things said count for all. The subfactions all have a good feel to them and are roughly well-balanced with them having obvious downsides to there ups. I especially liked GDI's Steel Talons for it allowed me to play with Titans again, though it barred me from using the commando.

But, as with all things in this world, it can't all be good. I'm kinda let down by the fact that the only thing they put in the add-on is some new units and support powers. And as much fun as subfactions can be they're not really original. It's a standard formula used a little too much for my taste. Though, I guess it's hard enough to actually create something like this without new and innovative features. Let's be realistic, Kane's Wrath is good as is.

So apart from not playing the Scrin much I also refuse to play the Blackhand Nod faction. Why? Because dear brother Marcion, their leader, ordered the assassination of none other than Anton Slavik. I know that story wise it's always a strong move to kill off a loved character, but WHY ANTON? Apart from Kane he was my favorite character. He was the only one keeping me with the hood. He shared Kane's visions like no other. WHY! That being said. It's clear I'll make it my goal to eradicate black hand players. Die bitches! Oh, and for future games, expect Cabal to be back in some form or another. It's going to be fun!

Command and Conquer 3: Kane's Wrath

So I feel compelled to write a review. I've finished the campaign and I've done a game of global domination, I think I'm allowed to now. I'll try to find myself some time and inspiration this evening. Got nothing else to do. Hmm, I need to figure out how Ben "Yahtzee" Croshaw does his reviews. I love that stuff.

world food shortage

Just heard the US is taking out another 2 billion (iirc) for food support worldwide. My first though was: Why the US? they're Shaquile O'neill deep in depts already. Let China pay some of that shit. They're a major consumer and have the money, right?

Anyway, I'll try and find more on this today and hopefully I'll be able to formulate a decent opinion on this.

Right, so I found literally JACK on the nets about this. The only thing I did find was a piece on how the food shortage is due to prices spiking which is a consequence of the global fuel shortage. Say what? Yes, apparently it's due to the shortage of fuel. You see ethanol can be produced from corn. Even in such quantities that it's profittable. So the US started making ethanol from about 20% (correct me if I'm wrong) of their corn produced! And as the US are the largest exporter of corn in the world, the world suffers. Now normally I would call the US names and rant about their incapable leadership and such. But as it is they're at least trying to do something about the fuel problems. And they're also putting more money on the table for foodsupport.

Yes, yes, China warned them of the problems that would come of the ethanol production, apparently it's one of the reasons why they didn't start producing ethanol on such a large scale using this method. Which is pretty insightful of them. I'll give them that. But this still doesn't excuse them from helping. Sure the US are almost always one of the damaging factors in these kind of things and as such they should clean up most of it, but doesn't China have some responsibility towards the rest of the world for being the worlds' biggest consumer right now? I mean they house about one-sixth of the world population! That should count for something, right? Don't they have money left somewhere, they must have I mean the US economy runs on it for gods' sake!

Storage space for money is one thing the US aren't running low on. And it's not because they're vaults are so big.

Maybe the interweb people should focus less on the differences between people (LL is full of atheist vs theist stuff) and more on the likenesses between people. Aw yeeeaaah.

You see that? Now that's one sweet looking blog. Took me a while before I got the proper sizes done. It's made for resolutions of 1024px or wider. So if it looks jagged at all and you've got your screen at 1024/768 or higher, tell me. I'll see if I can fix it.

Upcoming week I'll start updating the links section too. Thinking of killing of the rest of my blogs (those that never really got off the ground). And I think I can scratch E-Bean as well as he hasn't been updating for far longer then me. As for new links I'll probably need to divide them into blogs and other stuff. Adding LL, Utube, G-video and such is on the agenda.

As far as post content is considered. I'll be jabbering about stuff that (dis)pleases me in general and once in a while I'll embed a stream and comment on that. I've been following a discussion (or digital war if you will) between the scientologist community and a group called "Anonymous". It's pretty interesting and it once again shows how little some people think about what they're actually doing in this world. For themselves, their friends and the rest of the populous.

As for now, my hand is starting to hurt like a midget with a pointy stick on speed. And I still need that sucker next week for the last volleyball match of the season.

Well great. It has been a little under a year since I posted anything, I think. It has started to sound hollow in here.

But as I am very fond of spouting my opinion about stuff that I've actually researched I couldn't help (after watching like 80 submissions from Mark Bunker and "Anonymous" on LiveLeak) but feel the need to start up my buh-log again.

See I've been chasing after opinion videos on LL, utube and G-video that have actually been submitted by more or less balanced and well informed people. Unlike the overabundant submissions of extremist thinkers (JTF, scientologists themselves, Nation of Islam supporters and so on) these are hard to find. First I really wanted to get a veeeeeLog going, but then I remembered that my cam wasn't working because of software issues. And this morning, about 10 minutes ago, I realised I still had daily outburst floating around in cyberspace somewhere.

In short I'll be using this to spout my opinions on recent events, stuff from my life (if I were so lucky to find it interesting enough) and opinions of others whom are brave or foolish enough to spout there's on whatever web-based media I encounter. Also I'll be posting, adding and removing some links this weekend. And If I find time I'll redesign this sucker into something more familyfriendly. And if I'm really bored I'll occasionally post some 40k stuff or a review of whatnot I encounter.

heavy weight

Ah, the time has come. Last weekend I was inaugurated as chairman of the board of my studysociety. As it stands we are growing as I write. There is a good change we are going to be quite the heavy weight within the faculty. The previous board (now the second senate) has done good work on faculty-student realtions and communication. Our job, among others, is to enhance this. As we aproach our first birthday and as I dive even deeper into the workings of our faculty it becomes quite clear to me that this will be a political game of grand design. It will take some hard work to realise most of our plans. But in the end I know that it will be worth it.

But, of course, we're also here to make sure that all the natural sciences (phys, chem, math, astr) students have a fucking A time during their stay at our university.

Anyway it is safe to say that I will have even less time to update than I already have at this moment.

But not to worry. May daily life is getting so awesomely idiotic nowadays that I feel more compelled to write about it than ever. So however much the quantity might diminish slightly, the quallity is most likely to grow.

sadness strikes me once more

Yeah, that kind of happens to me whenever I read the newspaper.
First of all Jeltsin died this week. It is a loss. And I know that there probably are people out there that can place arguments against him, but fact is (at least in my book) that he did good in his life. He opened up conversation between Russia and the western world. He tried to de-communise his country. Now I know there are people that say he just made it worse. The fact is HE didn't. Russia got worse because his replacements didn't continue his work.
Russia is no democracy yet and far from it. There is no freedom of press there. It is a state that contains a ruling elite that only looks after themselves and their support. Just like any other dictatorship.

Second thing that makes me sad is the fact that Europe is still in conflict about the Armenian genocide. Not so much that those people were killed, but whether it falls under "genocide" or not. I mean. WHAT THE FUCK! Thousands of people were killed! And all Turkey does is yell that it wasn't genocide because if it was they'll have to pay the Armenian people money. I mean, I know it'll probably be a lot of money, but it's nothing compared to what such a government has.

One more thing and then I'm done. A dutch high school student was killed on Monday. He was attacked without warning by some guy. Apparently the student had said something about a friend and the girlfriend of the attacker the weekend before. When the attacker came to pick up his girlfriend from school he saw the victim and after some words were exchanged just hit the student three or four times and left.
And the hits were not at random either. Three hits aimed strait at the temple.
The student died by the time the ambulance reached the hospital.
The attacker was arrested short after at his home. His family and friends say it couldn't have been intentional, he wasn't like that. He's just very fond of his family and friends.
Well apparently he's very touchy about them too. I mean, why the fuck would you attack like that? Ever heard of solving a problem with words? I know that there are some disturbed people out there, but this guy just attacked and hit the guy with aimed strikes and his family and friends are saying he didn't mean to kill him?
He was only SIXTEEN FOR GOD'S SAKE!

And that's just in our little shit-hole of a country, we're relatively safe. The "first Dutch soldier killed by actual enemy fire" event happened in Afghanistan. There have been previous deaths on our side over there, but they were all accidents with helicopters crashing due to mechanical issues and all that.

And all the western world does is live on. Celebrating the sixtieth birthday of Holland's most renowned football player, for instance.

Worst of all is that I'm criticizing such behavior while I myself am doing the same thing. People are killed all over the world and I'm dead worried about a test this afternoon while I'm waiting for the torrent of Rise of Legends to be completed so I can play (and I will play). In a minute or so I'll be done with sobbing over the worlds madness and I'll be laughing and enjoying the life as a university student.

The people of this world are hypocrites and I'm one of the biggest of them all.

So had a nice little chat with me mum's last night. And before I elaborate let me excuse myself.
Deb's, Alex, TAS, al you lot, sorry for not doing this one in english, but as it is not aimed at you folks, it's not that bad.

Here goes in Dutch.

Gister een kort gesprek gehad met mn moeke over mn weblog. Iemand van de kerk (wie o wie) vroeg haar of ze wel wist wat ik over haar op mn blog schreef. Iets over dat ze meer mn werkgever was vanwege al die klusjes, blablablaaat. Op zich niet zo erg. Ik heb mijn moeder de achterliggende gedachte uitgelegd en heb haar verteld dat ze deze blog meestal met een beetje (een kilootje of twee) zout moet nemen.
Daarna heb ik mn moeke laten zien hoe je op mn blog komt. Wordt dus oppassen wat ik schrijf?
Mooi niet. Ik weet best dat ik zo af en toe wat schrijf waar sommige mensen niet blij van worden, maar waar ik niet blij van wordt zijn lurkers.
Ik merk steeds meer via vrienden en familie of vage andere omwegen dat mn blog structureel gelezen wordt door mensen die vervolgens nooit wat van zich laten horen. Ik erger mij hier enigszins aan, ze hebben hier niks te zoeken. Maar daar ga ik nog niet dood aan. Daar waar ik me wel grijs aan erger (ja, je ziet het nu nog niet, maar wacht maar tot ik 50 ben) zijn die mensen die achter mn rug om aan mensen gaan vertellen wat er op mn blog staat. Meneer/mevouw, wie dan ook, denk je nou echt dat ik dit niet tegen mn moeder heb gezegd? En denk je nou echt dat dit bloed serieus was?

De meeste van deze mensen zijn persona die op zich wel omkunnen gaan met internet (lees een naam kunnen invullen op google en vervolgens de eerste hit aanklikken), maar verder niets afweten van het gross van de weblogs op het internet.
Zouden deze mensen de tijd nemen en wat meer van mijn posts lezen dan hadden ze gemerkt dat deze blog niet altijd even serieus genomen moet worden.

Het enige wat ik tegen deze persona kan zeggen is dat ik het een beetje eng vindt dat je op een zondag middag (of welk tijdstip dan ook) eens even gaat kijken wat er op internet allemaal over mij te vinden valt. Terwijl ik jullie niet eens ken (goed iig).

Dus zoals het op deze blog altijd gaat: Sterf toch (tevens met een kilootje zout te nemen)

So as I have mentioned several times I wanted to start an eldar army. Having acquired the new 'dex a box of guardians and a warlock I sat out planning (not quite in that order though, I believe I bought the warlock after the planning part).

As I finally decided my color scheme I started painting somewhat, but as you have also read here (a month or two ago) I wanted to repaint my army (well... repair and touch up, anyway). So the Eldar project to a side track.

Now as I got totally sick of painting marine after marine I knew I needed something else for the day. So I went and painted most of my test guardian. It looks kinda nice (even without higlights), I just need to figure out how I'm gonna higlight the orange. Maybe doing fiddling about with fiery orange (base color is blazing orange) or just a fade to white (orange-orange-white, orange-white, white). The last one worked wuite wel with my marines' blue, but I don't know what will look better with orange. A fade to yellowish orange or just to white.

Anyway As I'm a lazy monkey I didn't take a pic of the guardian but I did a testscheme in gw's interactive eldar guardian painter:

Whatta ya think. Keep in mind that the interactive painter doesnt quite bring out the colors right.

Updating inside this post before y'all miss the chance to reply and that sort of stuff.
Anyway here's the first testfig. Painted as such. I started with highlighting into white. When finished it gave this... earthy effect (you know, when you want to edit foto's or just monkey about with computer imaging you have that "earth tones" thingy. Well here it is:

As you can see, it looks rather nice (though I'm still not sure about the pure white highlights).
And the pic boosted the brightness and the sharpness of the higlights slightly. I't also missing that "bright" orangy feel that I initially wanted to have. I'll be trying an orange to yellow highlight on a new testfig next. After that I'll decide which way I go.

Personaly I think Eldar go really well with earthy tones, yet they also work fething good with t3h Sh1NyN3ss. But I might be wrong about all of this. It might just have been the black basecoat that fu'd up mah colors.

IKEA is evil

Went to IKEA yesterday and the only thing I could think about was how fucking scary the store was. It's demonic in it's design. First you've got the welcoming entrance and a nice layout of the store (which is evil in it's enormity). Then you start walking. The standard route takes you through the entire fucking store. It takes so long you get desorientated and hungry. I'd strongly advice against taking the "shortcuts" too. They make you pop up halfway the other sections which is even more desorientating and will make you double back without knowing it. And the place itself man.... It's scary like mofo. It's like they thought of everything, yet you can't help but feel like they only think that they thought about everything but missed something. Yet you cen't quite put your finger on it. I mean, they even got a "kids toilet" and steps in front of one of the sinks! It's creepy. And the bathroom smells steryle but when you take another sniff it's not the usual toilet kind of clean. It smells of hospital sterillity, it gave me the heeby-jeebies. Then when you leave behind the good part of the store (if there is anything good about IKEA) you're so hungry you must waist 11 euro's on a silly fish or some sandwiches at the small restaurant which, quite demonically so, is as steryle as the toilet... scary. And after the restaurant and the first part of the store when you've already decided that you'll buy 1000 euro's worth of crap you don't actually need (you were just there for a bedside lamp) you end up in the "selfservice" area. Which is no more than a big hangar stuck to the building that resembles the avarage DIY superstore. Nothing cosy nor a nice color, all grey and stacks upon stacks of cheap crap. And the exit isn't all that either. Actually the IKEA exit is the most horrible store exit I've ever seen in my life! THAT's the Swedish demon that is IKEA. Sweet-talking you into buying crap you don't need and even if you have the hart not to buy that shit you'll still pay 11 euro's for a meal at the end cause it took too damn long to get through the store.

There you have it IKEA is EVIL, and it's not the Fidel Castro kind of evil either. It's that 666, pentagrams, lucifers possé, Stalin, Hitler, slavery 'n massmurder kind of evil.

Well since last summer we've got two gw outriders in Groningen called The Lords Of War. Problem is... they suck!

I mean they're OK guys and all it's just that they know jack about organising a proper tournament.

The next one is in two weeks or so. They're asking 7,50 euros. Not a heavy price for such an event. But, and this is the problem, we only got time for two games. TWO 1000PTS GAMES FOR FRIGGING 7,50!?!?! Who the fuck handed them brains?
That and the games will be alpha level meat grinders...... laaaaame.... Where's the variation man? Those gay ass gamers haven't got a clue on what they're on about.

Arjan and me figured out you could get at least twice as much time for about the same money, maybe even less. Either they've run into the wrong buildingmanager or gw is asking part of the cut...

noobs, I'm thinking of running our own tournament called the Renegade tournament or something. Just strait up 1000pts d6 on standard mission table always gamma level play. Something in there for everyone....

Which reminds me, we still need to rig up a general FAQ for the upcoming 40k events in our little corner of the Netherlands, cause for some reason it's always the same people who think they're right about the same dumbass rules just cause they can't get with the what-you-read-is-what-you-get style of BBB. I mean COME ON Necron Destroyers are NOT skimmers, they are JETBIKES FOR CRYING OUT LOUD!

well I finally got round to uploading those wips of my chaplain.

here goes:
that's his head on the torso.

The skull is the one from the chaosmarine warrior box, it's stuck on a pike thingy that is normally placed on the backpack of the champion or something.

That one shows the wiring a little better, of course he's gonna have bionics in his wargear list, what did you think?
This one shows the neck tubing and cables even better.

I know it's hellafuzzy, I made some silly mistakes during the photoshoot, but this does show the five thingies in is skull very nicely.

Well that's about it, where I got the idea? IIRC it was Freakforge (search warseer and/or B&C) who came up with the idea. He's got this chapter that is all techy and stuff with very strong ties to Mars. I just copied the idea. (btw tnx Freakforge! you rock!)

I'll update some more during the upcoming holidays since I'll have enough time to actually get some work of nontrivial proportions done on my techmarine and I'll be hoping to post my old scout squad. The scouts were the first squad to be subjected to "TEH REPAINTINGS". which meant they get new shoulder colors, highlights, squad and chapter markings (oh joy!) and a purity seal coat.

Yeah yeah, I know, wtf is up with all the posts all of a sudden. I can't help it, Noorderspel has sparked my fanatacism(sp?) for 40k once more (which is good). For I have purchased the new Codex: Eldar and i'd like to share my thoughts on this..... most interesting tome.

I hear a lot of people say that Eldar have become much more powerfull. I say this is not true. They are just made.... a little easier to build up. I actually dislike some of the stuff they did to it.
The Aspect Warriors for instance:
They are still just about the same, the exarchs have one extra weapon option (with some cool ones at that), but they nerfed some of the weapons too. The biting blade is no longer that sweet character killer, getting another hit with every wound scored, it now ads +1S with each hit scored in stead. Wich is nice since it means you can get your exarch on 4 attacks and a total strength of 8 (AT AN INITIATIVE OF FRIKKIN 6!). But I liked the old one better.
They also reduced the exarch powers to just being upgrades that give your guys a universal special rule from the BBB. (infiltrate, stealth, hit and run, counter attack, etc)

And that means they took out 'crushing blow' and some of those nice and juicy abillities. Though not all is that bad. They just took the "exotic" and turned it into "just another color".

What they DID do is beef the phoenix lords into heaven.
They have better S T I WS BS (well actually everything).
They also sport a nice 2+ save and still have the "fleet of foot".
Imagine that monstrosity speeding towards your lines. It always kills you before you do it to them. their weapons are better, they are fearless and they'll probably save any wounds made against them. And if not? Well they can't be insta killed anyway with their new rules. (Though NEVER EVER pit them against stealers or broodlords, they'll snuff it, I'd guess)

Take Jain Zar:
When she charges she sports a healthy 5 attacks at S7(executioner) at I10(banshee mask) that ignores normal saves with a WS7! That could kill any elephant. So what if you don't kill that fex in one go. It needs three wounds to kill her in the same round since she can't be insta killed!
Or Baharroth: also 4 or 5 A's on charge, power weapon (S4 though), ws7, I6. And if he doesn't get the job done he does a simple hit and run and he's out!
That and he's got an average speed of 21" (charge included)!

And than there's Maugan Ra with his new maugetar, it now sports 4 shots, and it RENDS AND PINS! (AND shuriken canons are now assault!)
I mean WTF!

Sure you pay a whopping 200 or so points, they kick fucking ass!

I'll leave it at that. There should only be one reason for any army to buy it. For the Eldar it's the new wraithlord model. Have you seen what they did with that sweet plastic on gw.uk? MAN i gotta go convert me one of those!

I was happily surprised about the effectiveness of the snipers. And As always my infiltrating tactical squads and souts did a mighty fine job.

There is actually nothing in my army that didn't do it's job. I just had some flaws in my tactic and some very bad dicing (the landspeeder missing a whirlwind 4 turns in a row while they're 4" apart).

Anyway I'm going into details on the weekend, cause I forgot to bring back the camera and so there are no pics to explain shit.

Other than that, the tourney was fun as hell, lost one game, drew two and won two, though the two wins didn't count towards the tourney :'(
And as always there were humoungesly cheesy lists, that actually sucked more than the balanced lists. I feel pain, since if I had played against the top players i might have had a better chance of winning some damn games.... why? Cause their lists is exactly what my list is built for. Not that my list is targetting just one type or that those lists are bad or unbalanced (ou contraire!). It's just that they have very obvious tactics and that my army had just those key units that can easily take care of certain units..... wait are those speed freaks? Meet lascannon! Eh? landradier with chosen? Meet lascannon! Wtf? Basilisk? Leman russ? Demolisher? Meet lascannon and landspeeder with multimelta! That and i got them infiltratin' fawkers that take out them tings! While the lists that I was playing against were like... irattic? To say the least? Weird ass lists with like two vindicators, a dread and just heavy weapon tactical squads etc. What is up with that? And his tactic seemed to consist of mindless shooting at what's close...... No fun in that.

Anyway I heard there was another tournament in january, so that'll be fun. in the mean time i'll be finishing my techmarine, some more assault marines, my chaplain and a spiffy VERY late B-day gift for Tau Tim.
I'll also try to get some more pics on the blog (be they 40k related or not). And I think our house is gonna host another Battle for grunn series of games during the Xmas holidays.

hmm, so my first midterm sucked. I GRAVELY underestimated it, so now I failed one course. I'll need to try and rechance it at the end of the semester.
Monday's the next one (calculus ooooh sheit!).

But before that I'm going to visit my dear freind Joachim Wisman for he just got his diploma. He failed three classes in higschool so he redid one of 'm in highspeed tempo. He is now able to join the study he chose in february (2nd semester).

It's a conspiracy... well at the least a controversy!
And to think that I just noticed it. Let me explain with a small image:

This is a schematic representation of part of our campus.
A is the Natural sciences and technology institute (my place)
B is the international living residence (coïncidentally located right next to e a crematorium)
C is the only zebra the crosses that big ol road
D Is the busstop
And to the right you can see the road leading to the sportscentre

Now the thing is if we want to go to the busstop (from A to D) in a LEGAL manner. We need to walk all the way to the IS residence, cross the road and walk back again. What is this? Do they think that we are all nerds (... okok we are) who love studying so much that we practically spend our nights at the institute and will not be needing the busstop?
Same thing goes for the sportcentre. What were they thinking? "oh gees, they're all nerds, they doon't do sports sp they don't need a direct road leading to it." WTF MAN! It's a conspiracy to make all Beta student into ubernerds! It's such a subtle plan that I didn't even realise it untill today. If we want to do some sports or get to the busstop we either need to take the uncomfortable long walk that takes us past the IS residence or risk our lives and cross the road without using the zebra (and actually breaking the law too!).

So I ask of you why isn;t there a zebra conveniently placed at that big red questionmark? It's because normal people don't like scientists, they think we're different. Well let me tell you something mister hotshot downtown office. We are different, we're smarter than you! But for now we'll risk our lives either by walking past the IS residence or by crossing the street unprotected by tthe zebra's comforting white stripes.

Damn you city hall! We'll get u for this!

Well we totally sucked at our second match. We ended up tying at 2-2, last set being lost at 8-20 :'(.
But than again we were all on the brink of destruction before we started the match, so no worries there, we'll crush their living harts before their very own eyes next time.
Also the latest trailer of supreme commander made me search for our old total annihilation disks. When I found them though, the first disk was broken :'(. So I decided to download it. But when playing the illegal version there is no sound. Which sucks cause that's one of the strong points of TA. So nmow I've decided that I want the legal disks in good shape again. If anyone sees them for a reasonable price (say less than 20 euros). Buy them ship them to me and I'll pay you. (the core contingency would also be nice to have)

I be at the faculty right now and I be hungry as a drunken scallywag on Christmas Eve. The mighty pirate Erwin has just finished a day of college. I'd rather be keelhauling a wail under my dinky. And now ye be askin' why I be talkin' like a nut with an eyepatch, a pegleg, hook-for-a-hand and a perot on his shoulder? Why it be international talk like a pirate day! YARRRRR!

But enough with the nonsense. Apart from irritating my fellow freshman to death with my piraty talk about adventurism and hidden and/or sunken treasuries and my detailed descriptions of the perfect keelhaul and the worst pillage, I still think that we should have a ninjapiratemonkey day.

so before I start blogging away on all sorts of crazy and adventures subs. I'm here to tel you about some stuff that I will be majorly floaded with.
1-work. As of yesterday I'm a donation whore in service of the Dutch Heart Foundation. I'll be stalking peoples porches once a week from now on. the good thing about this job is that it's flexible, it pays twice as much as a regular job and my cowrokers are mainly girls.
2-Chaplain. In my mind I've begun constructing a chaplain with a jump pack to lead my detachment for Noorderspel '06 (if there is ever gonna be one). I'll be using one of Aerion the Faithful's original ideas. I'm gonna use a WFB undead head (skull) as the head of my chappie. I want it to look like the skull is actually his skull, fused with his body through some abominable (is that a word?) edifice constructed by my master techmarine.

3-Searching for a room in Groningen. I have been to college for a week and I've already put myself in a big ass mess. I have work and sports in Groningen, both of which interfere with my original "grand scheme of things". And i might be inclined to do more on work (cash beckons). So if any ofyou gitz now a decent place that doesn't exceed 260 incl a month. Lemme know.

Tomorrow I'll have my first day of university. On the one hand I can't wait on the other I'm still a bit jittery. Good thing my rational mind (mine doing 70% of my thinking in stead of a normal persons 50% or so) keeps telling me i's all good.
The last two and a half week have been nothing short of wrecking. Not only was it an introduction into the student way of life in Groningen and the faculty it was also a test of your immune system. For as a (true)student one doesn't spend his life in a steryle environment. And boy did my immune system get a whoopin'. Not only did we follow the standard program but we caught god's wrath as well. The faculty introduction camp was 60Km's away. That meant 3 hours of biking in the pooring rain. Not only that, but in that very same weather we decided to do some egg-rugby in our swim wear. Good fun!
After camp we had an introduction into college, which was everything short of interesting. And friday we had a sportsthing followed by a social drink. Suffice to say my immune system flipped the bird on me and went on a holliday after that. I'm healing slow but surely, still trying to keep my lungs inside my chest.

Aside from the sickness I'm pretty much okay. I've met some fun people in the faculty and good times will be had upcoming year. I've also created some healthy preconceptions about law students. Not all of them, I mean there is that 5% of people who are actually interesting. But hell most of them take themselves too seriously even when the faculty is comprised 95% out of people who didn't know what to do so they chose to do law. The only good thing I can say about them is that they have a healthy percentage of female students (very unlike our own, grmbl grmbl).

'nough said. I got things to do, like trying to find my username and password for my studentmail, making up for forgetting about TauTim's B-day (STUPID STUPID STUPID!), get myself out of some serious trouble and get myself into some serious trouble.
I wanted to post my timetable here, but I tink it would be easier to throw it all into excel first and make a pic of it so it doesn't get ffed up.

Also I want to mention that lastlifeinmyuniverse is going to take a (hopefully) short break from blogging. We all wish her the best. Maybe this will give the newbies time to catch up with all her old posts >.<

Kei week is done!

Holy crap what an experience. Last nights...... (yeah lets just call it that) was amazing! I don't have too much to say about it. It basically was a week of non stop partying, that's all. I've met some interesting people I must say and I'm sure I'll have some... interesting times with them.

Nuff about that, there's a lot of stuff to do next few days and next week. I just had a job interview with a company alled "streetwise". They muster donations for charity (heart foundation, SOS children villages, etc, etc.), if all goes well I'll be knocking on doors and making people sign. I really like the prospect of working here, the hours are flexible, the pay is good, the people nice (especially the girl who was on a job interview opposite of me>.<) but most important of all I actually do something good (arjan said irritating, but that's not the main reason).
What else.... ah yes, Berrie's farewell party on saturday. A friend of mine is going to Thailand for six months. Three months of voluntary work (mainly teaching) and then three months of backpacking. So we'll celebrate our friendship one last time before he goes. He'll be keeping a blog diary that I will link from this site. I wish him well.
after saturday I'll be packing for monday, cause on monday the introcamp starts, which will last two days. On a side note, Keri (good friend) turns 18 on tuesday, so we'll have something extra to celebrate. Oh and I'l try and get a pic up of my deceased shoes >.<

The kei week is awesome! my group is pretty nice, but I've met more interesting people, one reason why I'm jumping groups today. I'll be with another group every night untill wednesday, just to make things more interesting. I also got Arjan's room for my self, woot. It's a 15 minute bikeride to the partyhole, but worth time taken a thousandfold.

I'm off, gotta shave, shower, eat and find out what we're doing today.... what you say? Cabaret? Woot!

I just saw this flick. And yes, it is that good.
Well... at least if you haven't see Equillibrium, Ultra Violet, Fahrenheit 485 or any other likeminded film, because you see, the idea is as old as the ages and it has been incorporated into as many films, books, poems and websites as the idea of sex.
You take an existing world, change it into something we, the western world, fear. A dictatorship. A dictatorship that has been ercted by people using the means of fear. Manipulating the peoples under the guise of safety and protection. But all is well that ends well and in all these flicks someone stands up kills the dictator, his cronies and the idea they stand for. As simple as that.

But that's not all I wanted to say about this. I've read Fahrenheit 485 and I've seen Equillibrium, Ultra Violet and many a film alike. In all things the "protection" and "fear" starts at terrorism, war, desease. The two stories that appealed to me the most were F485 and V. Why? Because they did not encompass the entire world as it did in Eq and UV (or, maybe for better understanding, Aeon Flux). In F485 it was the US that gave up it's picture of democracy and "disposed" of conflicting ideas. In V it was the UK. Though in the book F485 the prelude was never given, nor in the film. But in V they did explain how everything came to pass.
Now, you would say that it would be impossible for such modern democracies to fall so low and return as dictatorships. I thought so myself. So a major disaster must strike first to accomplish such a feat. In Aeon Flux it is desease and over population, in UV it's zealotry and extremism that schism the world and so it is in Eq and F485. Yet in all these stories it is a group of people who see opportunity in dire circumstances. Indeed the idea was as dark as the opportunity itself. And here is the major difference between V and the others. In V the disaster that gives rise to the opportunity was not an eventuality like overpopulation or desease. It was a fabricated pathogen that raged across a nation. The fabricators planned their attack precisely without flaw and they came in control of one of todays *cough* more powerfull nations *cough*.

Also it seemed at first glance, but I am not entirely right. The prime disaster was not fabricated by those who wanted to dominate. It was fabricated by those who thought they could liberate. In V the US overreacted with their little war on terrorism, which ended up dividing the nation and civil war erupted. AND THIS was the prime disaster. Because this launched an era of chaos and made it so that nations could no longer affect eachother properly. For would that have been the situation, the fabricators would not have been able to take control. They would not have been given the opportunity.

And you all say, that will never happen to us. Yet, do YOU know if and how much sensorship is being pressed through the media? Sure the internet is a means of free press, but it's also a place where there is never an impartial party, every oppinion, every sentence, every word carries the load of the writer. Which makes it just as bad as a sensored newsreport. You don't know for sure how exact or true the things said are. you don't who for sure who handles by which motives.

And THAT is the power of the media, for I might say these things here, today. Yet, you will all watch the news tomorrow or read the newspaper and see the pictures and the video footage of places like Beiroet, Israël and Sri Lanka. And you will all think that everything you see is true.
But we do not know. Hezbollah says there are x amount of dead civillians, Israël will count y amount, and the "free" press will come to the conclusion that z people died.
What do we know? NOTHING, at least not enough to pass judgement on one party wihtout adressing the other.
Sure Hezbollah is wrong, everything they stand for is a mischief and deceit, death and fear. All qualities of chaos. Yet, Israël is no better. They could have gone through with this peacefully. They could have asked for international support. As it is now, Israël gave Hezbollah a reason to launch, and both parties are guilty, BUT Israël should have been a mature boy and called for the other kids to help and talk it over. All they did is make the world more afraid of itself. All they did is show that they are more eager to fight and "get even" than to resolve things with words, not lives. They have shown that they are no better than those whom they supposedly hunt, I'm not even gonna write israël with a capital letter aymore, it is not the name of a nation, it is the name of a terrorist organisation.

PS: please don't forget about the other conflicts in the world, yesterday more people died in Sri Lanka as a direct result of the on going civil war than there were people killed in the entire conflict of the last few weeks between hezbollah and israël. Arjan keeps bugging me about posting small reports about saturday.
You want it, you got it:
THE TOURNEY SUCKED DONKEY NADS!
K pts was no problem, but the 1 hour per game got to me. My marines only start doing anything by turn 3 or 4! That's whay they are CC marines! Fags.
That aside most of the players didn't want to play standard scenarios.
Which makes it even more terrible for me since I only have a reasonable chance of winning when we have a certain objective, cause it introduces a certain tactic to the game and it forces my opponent to choose between me and the objective. Marines don't win by killing unless you are extremely well versed in the art of marine combat and you know your opponent all too well.

With that said I'd like to get on with things.
The other generals were all fun and had a big bag full of sportsmanship. Well except for El Fatso with his Necrons who didn't know the rules that bring his army in the most danger.

Anyway, my first game was versus another marine player, Kim de Vink.
Bit of a cheesy army, but in the end it was a close game (and that after 4 rounds!)
He had two tac squads (5 guys and a lascannon in each), a scout squad (5 guys, 2 snipers and a Hbolter), a vindicator, a dev squad with four missile launchers and a commandsquad lead by and attached with a libbie, both libbies had fury of the ancients. You can see my perdicament? No? Well maybe if I tell you that the only piece of terrain was a building of about 6" by 6" in the middle.
Yes ouch. But I still managed to cripple and mute the vindicator, kill the scout squad and scare off one of the tac squads.
He won by 50 or 80 points or so (both tac squads, half a sniper scoutsquad, the landspeeder and half an assault squad).

Second game:
I kinda started this game in aw, I was facing Eldar, and not any eldar, they were crownworld Eldar infected by Nurgle and SUPURBLY converted!
In the end I won cause I had 3 loot counters (we played secure and control) and he only controlled 1. Which ended me with about 400 points more than him.
Only real combat victory I can say is that I killed his seer council(3 guys woot) and farseer and my sniper sarge wounded the wraithlord!

Third game:
El Fatso's Necrons:
Lord with orb, pherelactroefjkldhslj thingie that makes the lord WWB with 1, 2 or 3 wounds and another thingie... oh yeah gaze of flame.
Two squads of warriros (11 each)
Three wraiths
Five destroyers
Tomb spider

His tactic was obvious, the spider and lord would make sure the warriros would be almost unkillable by shooting and the destroyers would wreak havoc upon the oncoming enemy, the wraiths are a nuesance, but a guess nonetheless. They may have that 3+ inv save, but they only have one wound, so a hail of bolter shells will easily dispatch them, though they are also capable of tying up entire units in CC.

Anyway we played three turns, well.. two and a half. I lost my snipers, 5 CC scouts, 4 assault marines and two or three tacticals, BUT I made it into CC with them.
So if we played a nother turn or two I would have opened his tin ass using my powerfists as can openers, heeeeere lordy, lordy, lordy, daddies got something for ya! Anyway, he killed two scouts in CC (three were left before I charged). My guys were rolling like mongrols and killed like one dude, but by strategically taking out the right guys and with a little luck.... nah, he was just a dumb ass. The thing was he cleared the wrong necronsand by that my killzone. There was no longer base contact. I lost my Ld test, but since there was no base contact he couldn't persue. The (excuse mah french) n00b kept saying that he could cause I was still locked in CC. On top of that he kept believing that he could kill me if we kept it going for 6 full turns. Why? Because his swarms would have joined CC (his spiedr pooped out three).
I MEAN WTF! I have THREE POWERFISTS! One round and they're gone! FOOTSY, NADA! I couldn't stand this guy, but I refrained from any serious comment or painfull remark, and I'll see him and the rulebook again on the 19th of Novembre. (the stuoid thing was that the judge made us dice over it, I could have looked it up in the BBB in less time!)

In the end I didn't feel that the results sent to GW for Medusa were justified.

It's 3:52 (EST+1) at the moment of posting, friday night. Why, you ask me, do I post at such a time on a friday night..... saturday morning? Well, because I had to finish the inner workings of my 40k carrying case. I bought mine at the local DIY store, so it came without the spiffy unit holding foam. I made mine from polystyreen foam. 5 Hours and one hell of a mess later Strike Cruiser 'Bob' is ready to go. The problem now is that I've got to be at the barber in 4 hours AND I have to play two to three games of 40k this afternoon do kill all those who would oppose the Imperium of man and to safeguard 'Hell's Slingshot'. On top of that I'm going for a game or ten of pool and a pint (or 8) after that. So you probably won't hear from me untill late sunday, early monday. (Life sucks dun' it?)

I don't know if we can get pictures with that medusa report though, cause ye ole' man has taken the digicam with him to Austria this... yesterday morning, gleefully declaring that he probably wouldn't even be using it that much because he wanted to stick to his "trusty old chemical" camera. (They woke me at 6.00 to see them off) Maybe there will be someone else with a cam, but we'll see... wankers.

I'm off, the upcoming few weeks will be fun, tiresome and a new experience. The introduction camp is coming, right after the KEI-week. And after all that it's University time!

The real reason is that I did my first (freehand) chapter badge and squad marking, yay!

Ah yes, my beautifully freehanded chapter badge, I tried painting some wings (mainly something that looked like the dark angel ones) but it's farking hard! So I simplified them a bit, but it still takes me longer to paint this little piece than it takes me to paint a helmet half blue. You see the winged lightning bolt that is the result. I'm very pleased with it nonetheless. Also you can see the company marking in the bottom left, said company being the tenth "scout" company.

The arrow suggesting Troops (though with scouts that is quite obvious, besides it's actually the "tactical" marking and the III suggests squad three of the company.

I know the lines look a bit sloppy,
but keep in mind that in real life that little masterpiece is
yay

big.
Well actually a little bit smaller even, but I don't wanna be responsible for any eye damage received while forcing your face within dangerous proximities of your screen.

I'm really making progress on my painting this week (not surprising since I'm painting like 8 hours a day now).
I expect to have pics up of the finished sniper scouts early next week (monday or so).
I'll also be posting pics of the army I'll be taking to the Medusa weekend. I've got lots of work before that (hmmm less than one and a half week, this will be a tight one). As I plan to redo most of the army, especially my old metal scouts who need some serious tinkering to look the same standard as mista Markos :/

I ended my search for a feasable list with the thought that I didn't need lascannons and rocketlaunchers for two reasons: I have melta bombs and powerfists everywhere and I won't be facing more than two or three tanks per army, and if there are three tanks they'll be low armor (max 12 or so).

As you can see I have 4(!) infiltrators, jump packers (incl Cpt. Chorus) and a speeder. The latter will make mince meat out of any armor that refuses to acknowledge it as a serious threat and the formar will rip across anything that isn't tyranids (I won't be facing Arjan and I hope I don't run into Pieter).

anyway, after having NO internet or computer time at all while being HOME (not even away on vacation or whatnot). I'm back. And I've decided to change the look of this place. It's too dark. Maybe if this was an all 40k-blog I'd leave it as is, but that's not the thing.

I'm kind of thinking about "whitening" up this shanty town. I really like the white BG and the grey text that lastoneinmyuniverse has, it's much more restfull for the eyes.

So, I'll be fiddling around with the monkeys that control the world, you know, feed them a banana or two to get 'm to turn that switch etc.

Take into account: the plasma pistol on Markos stays, why? It's his thing. And he IS gonna fight in this war, one way or another.

Also the only traits that I'll ever use are "No mercy, No respite" and "See but don't be seen", for fluff reasons. My standard drawbacks are: "Die standing" (minor) and "Eye to Eye" (major).

Any comments? I don't have that wide an assortment of models left, but I think I can get my snipers and rhino done before the 12th of august. Also if need be I can finish a new model/squad before said date.

And yes I finally got myself round to installing Monkey Island 4 "ESCAPE FROM MONKY ISLAND!" again. Dear lord the game is funny. I shed many a tear last night when rolling of my chair. And even though I've played the first three chapters like 10 times I still seem to find stuff that I haven't seen or heard during the previous ten attempts!
Thank the Emperor for the old school point and click adventures!

Talking about pirates: We checked Pirates of the Caribean 2 thursday. It was not so much a wow. It was entertaining, but cheesy at times, though the zombie pirates in 1 were cool, the "sea-creature-fused-pirates" in 2 rock! That's the only really cool thing in the movie. Oh yeah that and the fact that Jack got to hold a still beating hart in his hands. Biggest downside: THEY DIDN'T FINISH THE STORY!!! THERE'LL BE A THIRD FILM! Which, dispite it's probable avarageness we will need to see, because we want to know how it all ends.

And another note, there will be a Medusa V event in Groningen on the 12th of august. I'm entering with my Storm Angels. May the Emperor be with us and may our enemies lack deployment skills (yes even more so than me!)

-Sergeant Markos' last words after being knocked out at the battle for Tape's Line.

He was found in more or less a living state after the Tau retreated, he is now recouperating in sickbay waiting to take the fight to those blueskinns in the future!

It was a grim battle and much was lost, but victory is in our hands!

Say what?
I won a 1500pts Take and Hold yesterday versus TauTim. In the beginning a lot of my dudes got shot up but in the end it was the stubborn assault lead by Sergeant Markos that won the day. (O'Shavah rolling two 2's and two 1's on a charging assault helps too!) He actually survived about 3 to 4 rounds of CC against Tim's normal Shas'O with bodyguard and O'shavah on top. Some really sucky rollingon Tim's behalf and some totally pwning save rolls on my behalf made Markos the man of the match. (I actually rolled three 5's one round and three 3's the next on saving throws.)
Markos subsequently managed to kill O'shavah and the other Shas'O and some gundrones.
(love that powerfist) So this is an hommage to Markos:

Sergeant Markos was and still is my most active model, he has seen battle in all major conflicts of the L'orn Campaign (also known as the Dron Defiance) and is a veteran of both the ongoing Tyrannic wars and Tau campaigns. He has seen battle against the vile servants of the dark gods on numerous occasions and he has seen the red in the eyes of many a necron before extinguishing it. He's a master of infiltration and will always be found there where the fighting is the fiercest (and generally most dangerous for both sides). It's a fair guess that he has the highest body count in my army.

Though not always as lucky as last battle he almost always gets his points value back two fold. And as of yesterday I'm starting an HQ kill count. That's two stripes from yesterday, WHO'S NEXT!!

First off I want to say that after reviewing the pics there is some tweaking to be done, but that will be 5 to 10 minutes work tops.
here we go:

That's him though a bit blurry (the lighting wasn't perfect last night and well, I'm no pro)

Backpack, the gs looks a bit rough, but that's cause I filed it a bit, after painting it'll look as smooth as a babies bum. here you can see the added exhausts, some of the improvised joints and the fuel canister for the flamer.

Lefthand side, the boltpistol with purity seal and the link up cables that protrude from the fore arm.

Ah yes, the legs, I did some easy gs moddig here, just adding some strips to make it look reinforced, and I added the "plated crouch guard" to make it look techmarine-like.

Front view, the axe is very blurry, but the head can be seen pretty good here. It's one of the plastic scout heads with a gs gas mask thingy.(only just noticed that the cam focused on the servo arms on the backpack here >.<)

Better view of the face, also here you can see the chest plate. Two pieces of thin plasticard placed around the skull that was on the chest. And the rased throat guard, also plasticard with a gs finish. (looks oddly rough but it ain't!) You can also see a blurry plasma cutter. This pic also gives a good view of some of the stuff I used for the servo's, mostly chainswords and plasticard for the arms and multimelta canisters for the joints.

Another face shot. Less blurry axe, here you can see it's the tech axe from the 3rd ed metal techmarine. He looks oddly clown like with all the different colors (that's what you get when using old bits and the odd painted or undercoated part) That reddish thing on the right chest is supposed o be a plug for a link up cable (so that the reverred brother can converse with the machine spirits)

okok, maybe not completely, at least they DID a series of Blade, which we should be cheerfull for.
But WHY, WHY did they replace Wesley Snipes with some bald ass nigga who couldn't scare a baby when he wanted too. *weep*
Sure he does the job, he just isn't Snipes. He doesnt bring that whole ambience that good ol' Wes brought with him. Oh, well I guess we should be happy that they did a series of Blade. It's actually pretty good, though not that fast paced as the movies. It's missing something more than just Wes. I don't know what it is. It's just not there.
Other serie news: The Wire ROCKS! I started the second season yesterday and man, it's one of the best cop series I've seen!

er....errrm.. OH yeah! NOORDERSPEL 2006 is coming! Yes, after a period of mourning the loss of this annual event it has been resurrected! This time it's taking place in Septembre (right?). And Arjan has offered his service as the 40k tournament ruler again. That'll be his third tour. I'm looking forward to it. As I'm gonna play my snipers (lookout you weak ass save dudes) and I'll be entering my Angel o' techy stuff (which I will be posting here soon in it's pre paint fase) in the demon contest. Hope I win me something, gives me a free box from the local gamesstore and I wants me some new terminators!
As for the techy dude himself I'll be posting tomorrow. I'm still modding his chest armor (some tweaking with green stuff, buffing him up to artificer armor status and all).

PPS: I arrived at the last mission of the infantry general challenge in C&C generals. That bitch has all superweapons and all units (exept for the general specific ones). Good thing those superweapons have a 15 minute cooldown and can be delayed by destroying some target buildings. But EEK! Wish me luck on this one kids.

apparently im not myself lately.
I'm a veteran when it comes to organising parties and the like, yet I still; managed to screw up here. I shoudl have foreseen that people wouldn't read my mail, because my gmail isn't in their "safe list" yet (goddammit people CHECK YOUR JUNK MAIL! there might be something in there worthwhile). And I should have foreseen that planning today just one and a half week in advance is THE date wasn't such a smart idea.
Yet there is also the fact that it IS the summer break and that DOEs mean that 50% is either on vacation somewhere in yallayallaland (damn rich friends) and the other 50% is working (even on saturdays!)

Now I can wine about this forever, but there are just certain things that I'd like to pass on to you folks:
when organising a party:
-make sure people get to read the mail :p
-make sure you pick a date that wouldn't normally be used by some special day (bad example: 25th of december)
-get a sort of even mix of male and female participants, makes it more fun
-pressure people in answering the damn mail fast AND THROUGH A FUCKING MAIL
COMON PEOPLE! when I ask for an answer by mail ANSWER BY MAIL!!!! it's not that hard!
you get the mail, you read the mail, you check your schedule, you answer. it's four fucking easy steps!

well I played a 2250 pts game versus AB's nids just now... and I screwed up.
right at deployment, I must have had a blackout or something:

as you can see arjan put all his fast units, hormagaunts(Horm) and flying tyrant(F), on his left flank for fear of me infiltrating my devastators(d1,d2), tacicals(T1,T2) and scouts(scouts,snipe) on that lil old Hill over there. ( I damn well payed 90 points extra for that infiltration beezwax!)
Now what I SHOULD have done is put them all down as tidy as possible on the right side of the board where I could easily kill off all his synapse (T, warr, F, Z) with my whoopass fire base and finish off the remaining scuttlers with bolters. His fast units would have been too far out of range to do any good. Sort of a "refused flank" tactic and his lictors wouldn't be able to deepstrike in them ruins because they'dland on my troops and die, which would have worked grandiously.
But nooooooOOOOOOOOooooooooooo, what does mister erwin do? he puts his strongest firing doods right in front of the swarmy army cause now he can shoot everything at everything on turn 1...... Which ended in a massacre of the scouts, T2, D1 and D2.
Pretty crappy. it sucks losing a game on deployment errors. but ah well... I'll right me a checklist next time round.
I just notics I forgot to pu in T1, they should be right around the dread and techmarine (D and T in blue).

But as that wasn'bad enough, I forgot to roll for my deep striking terminators on turns 2 and 3 and turn 4 ended up with me rolling a 1 on the reserves roll for them.... you can understand my perdickement.

Though I can only post about one thing: Marjon's party and I'll shove this post down one hell of a way since AB and I are gonna play a 2250 pts game this afternoon, and we got the new cam! yay!

Back to the party. It was all good! There were about 20 odd folks in a backyard that measered around 20 by 10.... METRES! (holy frikkin funshizzle)
Lotsa beer, some fuzzyness around what Ernst actually did (I aint going further here, ask him, he won't give a structural answer.... just something along the lines of "nothing"). Fun was had by all nonetheless, even the ClassKorean, who regrettably failed his exams (damn), had some fun, but that was before he dumped the contents of that second bottle of whine down his talker. it wan''t pretty.
All in all.... very good party, thanks again to Berry for cooking a very tasty meal and Muchos thanks to Marjon for letting us party at her crib and for letting us sleep scattered about the living room.

That scout hand was a pain in the big bag o nuts to get. It's the hand holding the shotgun. It's cut of very roughly, make sure you get the entire hand, any access plastic shotgun is then filed off with a "round" file (aka rattale). It's a hassle, but it looks way better then a Space Marine hand, they're too big.

Other news:
I started work on my homemade full servo harness.... some things look better than I hoped and some stuff didn't quite work out the way I wanted it. The servo arms are well under way and are looking quite good. They're a kitbash of leftover-hackedup-chainswords, glued together hubcaps and some plasticard. The thing I'm less pleased about is the plasma cutter. Cause the plasma pistols I'm using are bigger than the cutter that is on the GW-servo harness. A problem that needs solving. In the mean time I still have to figure out how I'm going to make (holy shit will these people stop interrupting me with there dumb ass phone calls! NO! my dad AIN'T here! He's at my great ant's funeral!) the other two servo arms, seen I'm running out of chainswords and hubcaps......
Ai caramba!

Apart from that work is still fine and so, so. I have a humongous lunchbreak today just to bring in my books at school. (and to write this piece o' crap in the meantime)

Well that was the last time I pict up a pen at school to write words longer then five letters.

Physics was a hoot! Pretty simple, too bad I didn't have enough time to finish it all, but it ended well. I think I got a 77. which means I'll have another 80 on my diploma. Woots! You know I think it really helps when you know you're gonna pass whatever you do before you make an exam. I needed a -0,1 (Yes MINUS ONE TENTH!) at least to pass this year. That meant I could wrtie down my name, the subject and my number and I could have walked out of there. (would have been funny)

So for some predicting, I'll finish my school career with four 6's, five 7's and..... FIVE 8's! (I may have left something out here)
I'll know for sure in about two weeks.

In the mean time I'll be handing over my books on tuesday and I'm gonna do some heavy duty party...ing, painting and C&Cing, though I need to clear up that little "cant load my yuri save games" prob first.....

So as it stands: I found a way to switch between monitors more easily, just switch cables and move the seat about 1,5 meters left :P
And DAYUM '95 is hard! The first hard mission the gdi got is the "commando has to blow everything up" one. Then you gotta protect Dr, Moebius AND soem stupid tiberium hugging civillians AND kick Nod in the nuts.

Oh well good thing AI wasn't invented yet in '95 :D Sandbag walls stop everything >.<

I'm currently trying to beat GDI mission 11. The start is hard, but it gets easier once you got yourself a proper base with some money to back you up.
As far as the NOD missions, THEY IS EASY (at least untill mission 4, cause that's where I am atm).

As of tomorrow I'll be more involved with my marine sagain though, I gotta get some stuff finished again! And Arjan is bringing me a thin sheet of plasticard, which means I can finally start on my home brewn techmarine.

YES! More GDI/NOD wars. And I'm guessing this is the stepover game (story-wise) between the RA series and the Tiberium series. YAY!

That and I checked out the gameplay trailer from Supreme Commander... one word: SSSSHHEEEEEEAAAAAAAT! THAT ROCKS!!! (ok, ok, three words)

And I've seen the trailer from patch 1.11 for WoW. THEY ARE ACTUALLY THROWING OPEN ICE MUTHAFUKKING CROWN! Kel'Thuzad is back! "You're curiosity will be the death of you!"
This means the almighty bad bitch "Arthas/Lich King two-in-one-undead-uber-mofo" will be in there not long from now. WOOoooooOOOOOOOOOOoooooOOOOOO death knight goodness to fight for all those paladins. I envy them players :'(
The scourge is back and now even the unforgiven are gonna get there ass wooped!

oh yeah and I checked the BF 2145 trailer... more of the same, maybe some more gamemodes better graphs, but roughly just a make over with weapon swaps and mechs in stead of battle tanks. (not even the proper kind of mechs that tower as high as apartment buildings, but the urban assault kind of pansy shrub that can't even jump a regular, low-level, sub-urb, two-story, American-friggin-dream house.

That said..... I'm pooring my paycheck from upcoming summer into one hell of a monster of a pc and the obligatory '07 releases.....

I felt obliged to buy me a new buspass since I apparently don't have the discipline for selfstudy........ Ok, ok that's not the whole truth!

I'm BORED OUT OF MY SKULL!! today I even WAITED 1,5 hours untill Lord Of War was torented... HOW SICK IS THAT! (great movie btw)

Only good side is I got oceans of time to divert from... nothingness to modelling that last damn scout. I still haven't figured out, though, what posish to give him. With his uber big custom barret-ish sniperrifle his pose will be critical. Cause we can;t have scouts tipping over in battle can we. I mean, what will the senior battle brothers think? "tss, tipping over already and not even in Terminator armor."

And next to that TRY (note it says "TRY" as in make an effort, doesn't mean it's going to happen that much) to get my already godlike body into an even godlike.....-er shape.

But as title suggests, I'm gonna be back at school as of tomorrow. A. for the finals, so I can actually get some work done.

LSD was one hell of a rip trip!

That it sure was! lets start at the beginning. Wednesday night we did some decorating (till 23.00) and thing is the janitor left us alone for about an hour. So we cracked open a cold one (or two... three). Some guys got the idea of drinking a brew on the principals chair (that's IN his office). we had a good laugh and finished up for the night.

That thursday we went to school early (about 7.15). And made sure that about 7 classes ahd the first period free by blockading the doors from the incide with some tables and books. And we actually got two teachers to give there lessons outside in the warm sun. Yes, people were gratefull indeed. Now I'm not gonna sum up all that went wrong cause that'd spoil the fairy tale that it went smoothly (some people honostly thought that there were no problems at all!) and we don;t want that.

The LSD party from 12.00 till 15.30 was rockin the house! we had a killer opening and one HELL of a good volleyball match versus the teachers. Man that was good. And to top it off we ended the whole thing with a beautifull performance by Evil-D's Band TwIIce. Seriously man, THANKS! You guys owned!

After that we had to clean the whole place up and start geting ready for the gala (damn tables!). PROPS TO HENK-JAN FOR THE GALA (and speach :P). Everybody in suits and dresses. Great time! I'll get a pic up with me in suit, I swear all I need is an earpiece and sunglasses!

Aaaand after that there was more cleaning. But at the end of the day we had a killer bash at Fox.... What can I say, I'm content with the outcome of that ^^'
Let's just not go into details.

I'm still a bit hazy from the 24 hours party spree and Ernst is giving a BBQ party over at his house tonight! Awaaaay we go!

Almost holidays

Damn I had one of them "almost holidays" again. FRIKKIN' good weather, 'nough beer, but too much to do. I still need to contact a couple of guys about a farmfull of animals including a monkey, I think. We had to do some work on the front "yard" (if that's what you call that 6-by-4 piece of flower bed), still working on my Dutch finals preperations, had to buy some pressies for my English teach cause he's quitting the job end this year and we're his last "mentor"class, and there was still loads to do for LSD (the day not the drug, Chris!).

But all in all I had quite the nice holiday, sadly no time to go to the beach or people to share that awesome quality time with seen they were all away.

WARNING PEEPS THAT DON'T GIVE A RATS ASS ABOUT 40K SKIP THE NEXT PART! But on the other hand that gave me plenty of time to do some assembly and painting. I've nearly finished the assembly of the third sniper scout and I've got me a fourth sniperrifle done, just need to figure out what sexy pose I'm gonna give the wielder. I also finished my first commission (pics will follow as soon as my dad jacks the cam from school tomorrow). It's a Death Gaurd champion complete with smelly, pussy, extra openings in his armor, a power fist, bolt pistol, demonic mutation, sculpted mark of nurgle and some extra exhausts on his backpack which are supposed to WYSIWYG for that gasious thing Nurgle guys can pick.
Besides that I've been scavenging parts for a techmarine with full servo harnass. I already have one servo arm (from an old techy backpack) and the flamer and twinlinked plasma pistol were found in the "firearms" department in my bitzbox. Some old hubcaps from my bikes and some othe pooha will do the trick, now all I need is a thin sheet of plasticard and something to construct the other three robo arms on the back pack with....

That and I got to play two games of 40k yesterday. One Recon versus TauTim. Good game very exciting, lots of casualties including both commanders (haven't played a game yet where he doesn't die). It ended in a draw where he had his stealth suits in my deployment zone and I had one of my Tac squads in his. Good game!

Second was a K-points fourway with my Storm Angels facing of against Nids(Arjan), Imperial Gaurd(Gerard) and Death Gaurd(Rolf). 'T was a massacre! Sadly my Dread, Tac squad and techy saw the end of the tunnel early on (turn 3 or so). But on the other hand they did take quite some shit with them. My landspeeders did there share of pumpin' too. But my assault squad and commander rocked the house by killing almost the entire IG contingent by themselves. They were responsible for a demolisher, chimeira, Kasrkin squad, heavy weapons squad and three squads of gaurdsmen. Woots! Damn shame my commander wanted to do the heroic thing and assaulted an entrenched squad of DG and lost his last wound to a rusty knife :'(

All in all it was a good game. Only thing left standing at my end were three assault marines. Arjan had his Flyrant and Gerard had his HQ command. But the pantsy coward Rolf nearly had his entire contingent alive at the end of the game, but he didn't kill that much.
Good times were had by all.
MY list (before Chris starts bugging me about it :P)
HQ: master with Jumppack, IronHalo, Twin LC's, Termie honors.
ELITES: Dread with Heavy flamer AND Techmarine with boltpistol.
TROOPS: Tac squad, 8 guys, plasma cannon and gun, veteran with power fist and plasma pistol. AND Scout squad, 8 guys, veteran with powerfist.
FAST ATTACK: Assault squad, 8 guys, veteran with power weapon, furious assault. AND two loose landspeeders.
HEAVY SUPPORT: N/A
I know mentally unstable me for not giving my master frag grenades....

As for next week, still need to do some preps for the big ol' stunt on thursday AND I needs me a place to crash from wednesdaynight till fridaymorning (that's two nights).
I bought me a suit for the gala, though, so that's done, got me a new pair of swimming shorts, GIMME THAT WATER! And I'm in money probs again (stuff is expensive!) But not to worry my classmates now owe me €1,20 each so that'll be cleared up soon enough.

In other news I have reason to believe that Renee (yes that cute lil girly) now has a relationship with my good friend Michiel. Note her name says "Ik hou van jou"
(I love u in dutch, chris) and his name says ""ik ook van jou" (luv ya too in dutch), besides I saw it coming miles away.
At first I felt a bit.... betrayed, but then again that would be totally ungrounded and It'd be a bad thing for me too loose two good friends just cause I'm an idiot. So I wish them a happy time together. So on with it then, I need to start fishing in that big ol' sea again :P!!

But at least I write stuff. So, here's the gig. Women still seem to be able to find the time in their scedule to confuse and piss me off at the same time. How do they do it?
It's like they have a list of 10 life goals and I'm number 5 or something.
1- Get laid with awesome hot superstar guy (or girl... whatevah!)
2- Become president of the US
3- Kill all nerds
4- do something else that is impossible (and stupid to boot)
5- Make Erwin's life miserable once in a while. Make it so miserable that he feels the need to torture you senseless in your own basement with your dads motorised lawnmower.
6/10- Rest of the list which consists of pretty much viable goals, like marrying a decent spaghetti monster fearing guy and getting two children, a dog and a water fountain in the back yard.

'nough ranting, back to beaswax.
I did some reconnesance of the schools premises today. And Operation rundergehakt is a go. the 11th of may will be something the school hasn't witnessed in quite some time. I can't tell ya mutch. All I can say is that we'll be neading gloves, rope and a bitchass load of ductape.

Having said that, the onlything remaining is that I've nearly completed the construction of my four plastic DIY sniper scouts. I only need to wait for arjan to bring back a new lascannon marine for me and the fourth custom rifle will be done.
I'll post pics when they're combat ready (including the paintjob).

my time of being a sentimental fool is over. The mourning period has been completed.
On to the next best thing. Chem teahc gave us a 65 on our third practical...... biatchnezz. Which sucks..... Robert will probably want to decpaitate Joel and me....
this means, howerver, that we score a 75 (thank you Robby) on the practical as a whole.
yay! up goes my finals grade!
And yes the same teach also checked our IT practicals....... 76 yay!

Yes Chris, I know you're all like, what's all this. Well this means that only by some weird freak accident I am able to flunk my finals (ie: meteor crash, cock cancer, etc)

In other, more 40k related, news. I'm pimping my rhino with homemade spaced armor. Better looking and easier work then the reïnforced stuff.

Didn't feel like turning it right side up again (too much hassle in photodraw). Picture this upside down or go stand up-side-down in front of yr screen to see this properly. It's more of the "metal wings" kinda thing. With a lightning bolt in the middle.

This is more aimed at looking simmillar to the bloodangels chapter badge but with, again, a lightning bolt instead of the blooddrop.

For those of you who couldn't give a rat's ass about warhammer 40k, go to post below.
others: read this. This be a fast look at the three games I played this weekend. Now shut up and listen! HOKAY!
1st game: Storm Angels (mah guys) versus Tau (TauTim)
patrol, which -on a 4by6 table- means little to no casualties in the first two turns. In the end we had a close call. Tim managed to score 178 points more then me, which means he got a solid victory by 28 points. Good game, good fight, little mistakes and bad reserve rolls (HOW MANY ONES CAN YOU THROW SUBSEQUENTLY WITH THE SAME FRIKKIN' DICE!)

2nd game: Storm Angels versus Hive Fleet Adamantium.
Short story? I got eaten. Long story: I got eaten.....
No seriously. I did some very stupid deploying. I ain't going into detail atm, but deploying close to nids in order to get as many weapons in LOS and range of them is BAD. You here me? B A D, BAD! I should've deployed way in the back of the board in that nice 4+ save building and used a refused flank formation(see 3rd ed marine dex) or better yet line blocker formation. (put scouts or tacticals geared for CC in front of a devastator squad (or whatever) geared for long range, to block the first assault wave. Try to take out as much Hive nodes as possible, starting with the fastest ones, ie: leaping/flying warriors and Flyrants, flyrants first!! And work your way down, to the hardest targets to crack. So first flyrants, then warriors -leapin or flying-, normal ass warriors, thropes and finally footslogging tyrants.
But beware of stealers!! And should the adversary employ the services of a broodlord, start screaming and hide in a corner. Or get him bogged down in a fight he can't win for the next three rounds. I haven't faced one yet, so I haven't found a decent tactic yet.
HOKKKKAY!
3rd game! "Storm Angels and Cadians" versus "Death Gaurd and Hive Fleet Adamantium".
(1000 pts for each player)
This came out very nicely. We had enough firepower to take down the nastiest mother of them all. Arjan's Flyrant. We succeeded in blocking his first assault wave (yay for tacticals) and my assault squad (THANK THE EMPEROR FOR FURIOUS ASSAULT!) managed to wipe out the death gaurd lieutenant and plagebearers. And, to the surprise of many one player present, our right flank -consisting of but one squad of IG, a squad of stormtroopers and their chimeira- actually held pretty well against the onslaught of a DG dreadnought, a squad of plague marines and a three thing short of a brood of stealers! Okay, okay, so what if the dread got bogged down in difficult terrain and they were reïnforced by a Lemann Russ Battle Tank. WE WON!

FOR THE EMPEROR! tallyhooooo!

current stuff to do:
finish scout snipers, finish 2nd assault flamer, finish rest of wip dudes, finish rhino (extra armor, repaint a lot and giving it icons) and then some.... oh yeah and touching up the entire lot, ie: higlights, blacklining, basing, painting the shoulderpads blue and white and FINALLY giving them chapter heraldry. I'll get some concept sketches up tonight. (yes down there under "edit")

Yay! Well... no, not really.... We just say that alot, in the hope that one day Ben will crack and actually give a party. His backyard is so frikkin humongous. We just need to defile it!

Back to what happened between last post and this one. I managed to score a 43 on English, man that was close..... actually I could have gone down to a 24 and not have any consequenses, but we need cinematics here.

We have a presentation tomorrow about ELO's (check wikipedia for it, also moodle/It's learning/Brainbox). It'll be one hell of a peanut. A feeble amount of practice and preperation work succeeded a GARGANTUAN amount of IT work on all three above mentioned elo's. We'll score about 75 tomorrow and be done with it. (actually I don't care what I get, because it doesn't count for my exams)

So I actually don't have anything serious to do untill I really NEED to get ready for exams. All prep work and training will be done at school. I have a VERY limited amount of lessons, so that means I can go out in the hellish world we call school. I can annoy like there is no tomorrow, I can flirt like there was no yesterday and I can make mince meat out of my brain trying to figure out a way to get around Berry's pawns on the chessboard.

Untill friday, that's where the real fun starts. We have another schoolfest as y'all know. It'll be our last (exams and all). So we decided we want a pre- and afterparty. And I think we can make this afterparty somewhere along the lines of my 18th b-day bash (ie: awesome destructive booze fest), but this time we can pull the guy-gall ratio even (maybe even swing the other way). Good times. If I get lucky, you'll get a thorough report including pics (I do hope not!) on sunday or so, depending on my mental state at that moment.
That should cover friday night. As for saturday night, that should be filled with the beautiful >damn dinnertime, cya in about 15 to 20!...20min later... damn good macaroni< guitar sounds of our friend Evil-D who's giving a performance with his band in Groningen that night. After that I just need to figure out how I'm gonna get to Hoogezand by 9.00 sunday morning for a game of volleyball. Recreational, something to do with 24 hours of voleyball.

That'll do for this week, next update -hopefully- on sunday night.

Well that was another gruesome day of tests.
Mathemagician mister BXM wipped up a fresh strand of test for us. It sucked!
I'm still working on one if the assignments and I will untill I figure it out.... (cya next year). Good thing is though, that if I manage to get 26 out of 100 I'll still have 65 out of 100 avarage when I start my finals. That means I can still get a 46 or so on my finals (which will hopefully not happen).

But back to business, I'm changing the "daily chick pic" to just the daily pic. This will include anything I come across. Even disturbing stuff. One reason is that I'd like to make this place a liiiiittle less offending to the female part of the population. And it's really hard to get a decent pic that is of better quality then the girl from "de drie gezusters" (stop wining Bro Ert, it's not like you don't have deviating tastes from time to time). So on to the next best thing. I'll see that I get a cam and get some stuff up from school, might take a while, but it could be fun for Chris to see what kind of succubi run around the hell we call school.

Next thing is this whole "who's so cute" thing you people have going on. Come on folks can't a guy have a little project going on without interference? Besides I was thinking of sending an anonymous note: "You stole my heart, I'd like something in return." (all letters will be handcut from a large range of magazines probably only available in the Netherlands). Or maybe I'll check if she goes to the schoolfest next week and check her out when she's there.... thoroughly.

Yeah it sucks. I gotta wait untill the 4th of may untill Veronica Mars 2x17 comes out. >edit.... my bad, it said 04-05-06. But I forgot it was the US style date... So I should be able to down 2x17 tomorrow :P)<

On top of that I'm zergd with studying everything about all subs at school. We're getting tests for math and chem that include..... EVERYTHING the books have to offer.
Arg....... And physics is about "energy systems".... first thing I really don't have a clue about which end is which of the proverbial physics horse. And on top of that I HAVE to get my text for Dutch ready and get a new test-block (in reversed order) in order to con myself through three agonising hours of telling my teach that different beliefs should live coöperatively at school in stead of being bound to the rules of one beliefsystem. And parallel to that I need to get my head around those damned poems and that text about the damn boat.

But all is well that ends well. Goals for upcoming week:
A- score AT LEAST 7.6 out of 10 for physics (other wise my grade sinks and I want to end up with a rounded 8 out of ten for my exams.)
B- get an average grade on my literature (so I won't have to redo it all)
C- get an average grade on my Dutch (cause it sucks and i don't want to depend on my finals)
D- score 7 or higher out of 10 on chem and maths. This way all my profile subs are a liiiittle above average and I get bragging rights.
E- get a party started around easter.

Oh, how I love to pester you with my personal life. Anyway apparently the pain or whatever was so bd yesterday morning that I fainted.......

It was something like this: I got up... "oooh worldy is wobbly" I go downstairs...
"yo bro....." worldy be more wobbly.... "man i think i gotta take a piss"....
wobble wobble towards restroom. Then bang head against wall, realises control of ze body is quite lost, next thing I know I'm on the floor with my bro on the phone with the doctors post and my dad trying to wake me up.

I then spent the rest of my day either on the couch or in the bathroom. Screw dutch television for being boring as hell between 8.00 and 18.00.

That be bout it. As I see it now, it might take me a little longer to get up and going. So don't REALLY count on me to be at school on thursday already, mkay?

Well ain't that something. I was supposed to be in surgery by now, but it's postponed. It seems they're quite busy atm. So now I'm in this webcorner doing... nothing. And msn just started to act ... oddly. keeps making a "fatal error" right after I close down the msn today window.... gah!

Well I'm here with only the internet, no msn. Means I have 2,5 hours (approximitly) to catch up on some webcomics.... and maybe.. stroll through dakkadakka to see what the massidiots have to say about anything.

Well those were an interesting two... no, wait, three days.
Thursday night was....... astonishingly..... wobly. I never got THAT drunk of just beer in my LIFE! Good thing there wasn't much traffic at 4 in the morning.

Friday I decided that A: I'm gonna study Physics at the University of Groningen next year and B: economic studies are for lame ass, knowledgeless, moneyhungry, sexless pricks. Somewhat like Donald Trump I guess.

Friday night I went to a party of a teammate..... something I do not want to remember all to long. Something along the lines of: NEVER EVER bring left-over booze from an old party to a party hosted by people of strong religion. You'll be accused of being born with the devil. anyway I decided last night in the pub (where we went after the mental rant of my mates mum) that I wasn't going to be a bitch about it. I can understand his mum's POV and respect it at that, but I will never change my ways towards....... our dear friend Dionysos.

Next stop was Enschede for my sis' B-day party. We had fun, food and.... fun. Though I did miss a match..... they.... we actually won 3-1..... probably cause I wasn't there ;)

I am now in various states of fatigueness and my liver has probably taken on every color in the visual spectrum of man within the last 12 hours and it still has more than enough alcohol to process to get a 15 year old German farmhand to act like a dog and chase his tail.

I am now off to bed....... after watching two more B5 episodes and receiving a verbal battering by ye old folks on "(...)enough sleep for you still are an adolescent(...)"

Yes, we should all switch over to the Drahzi green and purple system. It saves complicating voting procedures and expensive campaigning.

The idea is simple, as the Drahzi rep said:
"We take big barrel and fill it with purple and green balls, equal to the number of Drahzi. Than all Drahzi take ball from barrel. He who has green ball gets green sash, he who has purple ball gets purple sash. Where there was one Drahzi people there are now two Drahzi people.
