Dead befor you know it
As the previous post turned into a chatroom again and I haven't posted any 40k-ish things lately 't was time for me to do some fotographing.
After obtaining all the ingredients of sniper rifles (a self concocted version of it anyway) I went on a drawing spree. I had one scout box, four pulse rifles and four cadian standard issue lasrifles.
The result:
The stock and handle part is from the lasrifle the barrel is from the pulse rifle and the muzzle is from the lasrifle too. The bipod is from the scout plastic boxed set.
Et Voilá a new Veendam-mark x sniper rifle.
I'm making four of these babies for now, these together with a heavy bolter guy and two old metal snipers will become my new scout support squad.
Some new pics will be here soon, especially after the lil' 40k weekend coming up at my place.

Least it still sounds about right.
As for the weapon itself, that aint bad at all... Still looks a bit too tau-ish, but it aint bad at all.. And yes, go to blu-tac for those wonderful dry runs of ideas... On another note, I see a mold line.. please remove it :P

@TAS: I know I didn't remove the moldlines yet from the bipod. That's cause I got it out pf the frame like 1.5 seconds before I tok the pic.
@Maarten; Yes but we know you are a tad silly
@TAS again: I'm removing the Tau symbol as soon as I start modelling again. which will be sometime in between the three or four games scheduled for today.

Im guessing if you remove the weird lil 'tau' bits and maybe make it look alot more Imperial, you should be ok. It doesnt look bad atm, but I think it does need a bit more work as for some reason it makes me think Tau Auxillaries atm.....

yeah. well I am thinking about wrap cloth around it (GS ofcourse) like the IG master snipers do.
Or maybe stick the eagle badge from the commander box on the side.
PS: I kicked Albert's ass, but the next game he reaped mine.
The first game he used THREE annihilators and a raiderm the second game he used a vindicator, a predator, a basilisk AND a demon prince.
Why does Albert sound like an Iron Warriors player.. Holy jebuz... Enough firepower there to have won the heresy >.<
I like the cloth idea, having it wrapped over the snipper rifles, after all most snipers like to be concealed anyway. Of course in doing so, you wont really see the weapon as much, unless you dont mind.
